Every day nurses and midwives carry the responsibility of care.
They are there in moments of urgency, recovery, uncertainty and hope. They work long shifts, support families through difficult conversations and continue showing up for their communities with compassion and resilience.
Over here, we believe the people who care for others deserve to feel cared for too.
That belief shaped our approach to International Nurses & Midwives Day 2026.
Across our retail brands, LifeGrain Café, Plume Café and Tsubu Sushi, our teams partnered with hospitals, foundations and nursing leadership teams to deliver thoughtful acts of appreciation across the health districts we proudly serve.
The activations themselves were intentionally modest. Operating primarily within the public healthcare sector means all gifting must remain appropriate and compliant with government guidelines. But meaningful recognition has never been about extravagance.
A seemingly small action can make a big difference.
Simple and obvious it may be. Trivial it is not.
A coffee before a demanding shift.
A handwritten thank you card.
A voucher tucked into a scrub pocket during a busy day.
Across multiple hospitals and local health districts, our teams distributed complimentary thank you cards, coffees, muffins and hand roll vouchers to nurses and midwives. We partnered closely with hospital foundations, Directors of Nursing and nurse unit managers to ensure appreciation reached teams across wards, departments and campuses.
More importantly, these initiatives reflect the kind of organisation we aim to be.
We are not simply retailers operating inside hospitals. We are part of healthcare communities. Our teams witness the pace, pressure and emotional weight carried by frontline healthcare workers every day. We understand that hospitality inside healthcare has a deeper role to play: creating moments of comfort, familiarity and care within environments where those things matter deeply.
International Nurses & Midwives Day is one moment on the calendar, but our commitment to hospital communities continues every day of the year.
To every nurse and midwife across the hospitals we serve: thank you for the care you give so generously to others.
